Greyhound Cafe

Greyhound is another popular cafe started off in Bangkok.

Like any other cafes, they have a wide range of food and drinks. This place serves alcohol, but not quite ready for beer yet on their first week of opening.

Like any other cafe, they serve savoury food too.

This table for the 3 of us is definitely too small. 4 dishes with wine and we are already struggling. Maybe they don't encourage people to share as the portions are quite small. Us on the other hand loves to share, so we can try a few dishes in one visit.

Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Cake (RM22)

Very smooth chocolate cake... I would normally avoid chocolate or caramel because it's too sweet for me, but this is just so different!! The sea salt neutralises the overall and it was made to be not that sweet for people like me! Though I have to admit, RM22 for a slice of cake is ridiculous.

Coconut Crepe (RM22)

The crepes are not that great. Crepes are slightly too thick. If it is thinner with more layers of crepes inside it would have been prefect. There is real coconut meat inside, which gives that natural coconut taste. Again, RM22 for that slice of cake is just ridiculous.

Banofee (RM18)

Nothing special. Very tiny portion of Banoffee served in the jar. It is very pretty, but not as wonderful when we started to dig in.

Desserts itself already went up to RM60ish. It was OK but not that fantastic for that kind of price.

Cakes in Klang Valley are at most going for RM14 - RM18 per slice. RM22 for a cafe cake.. Uhh... Not sure if there will be a second time.

The wine too, is way too overpriced for a cafe.

Overall food is alright, there are many selections, from Thai to Western. But again, some of the prices are just exorbitant... as though we are going for some fine dine. Dewakan Malaysia's portion may be small, but the price justifies because it is really good and you can tell the amount of effort they put to decorate the dish. Here in Greyhound it's just a very normal cafe (well, it's quite beautiful inside) but the prices are just a little shocking for the portion with minimal effort to decorate. Very honestly speaking, the desserts are worth my time but the savoury food, just don't bother.
