Big Breakfast (RM26)

I've seen this place, I know of this place, but never once occur to me to actually visit.

Pumpkin Soup (RM14)

One of those days we had hangover brunch on a Sunday at Antipodean... I took a bite of everything and it all seems very decent. I'm quite surprised actually, I normally would prefer soupy stuff instead of a huge plate of brekkie. So pumpkin soup it is!

Avocado Toast with Tomatoes and Bacons (RM22)

Likes: Great choices, not bad of a place for brunch - in fact one of the better ones (not overly toasted toasts at least!!)
Dislikes: Limited tables and space....

This shop has been around for years now - not sure how long exactly.l It's located in Pudu, one of the lanes from Pudu Plaza. They offer a variety of Malaysian desserts - angku, Malay kuih, fried radish cake, Hakka abacus beads, and the list goes on. One of my favourite is the egg tea - possibly something you don't get out of Malaysia. Some of their desserts are quite bland but I would say the quality is rather inconsistent. Sometimes the bubur chacha is thick, sometimes it's really thin. Nevertheless, I'm always happy with my egg tea.

They restock their kuihs twice a day - for morning and evening shift. Once it runs out, it runs out.

I would normally take away instead of having it there - didn't like the place as it's not very clean and flies just can't stop sticking to humans. Such nuisance...

Likes: Reasonable price for the portion, lots of choices, fresh traditional kuihs
Dislikes: Dirty, parking is horrendous, food runs out very quickly so be there early morning or early evening (can't remember the second slot of restock - either 5pm or 6pm)

Recently moved to its new building, the Locahouz has a new face lift to its interior style. In its previous premise, Locahouz is a dimmed and cozy cafe. While maintaining its cozy feature, the cafe embraces the similar bohemian style as its sister cafe, Baboon House.

The menu is still the same as before. The savory meal is good but not as appetizing as Baboon House. So we settled for dessert and coffee. For a classic option, the local coffee is usually a good choice. There is also cham - tea mixed with local coffee. for the locals, these drinks usually brings back nostalgic memories as it is the common drinks in kopitiam back then.

On a hot day, the thirst-quenching Pomelo Orange Soda is extremely refreshing. Made from fresh orange and red pomelo, added with mint leaves, it is something you should opt for to energize yourself during midday.

There are a lot of cake options on their menu and I choose the orange cheesecake. The cheese is very soft and intense. The cheese is not flavoured with orange, however it is served with pieces of freshly cut oranges. The bottom of the cheese cake is a layer of digestive biscuit crumbs.

Compared to their sister cafe, Baboon House has better brunch menu, meanwhile the Locahouz has better desserts. The new location is definitely better than the previous one in terms of parking availability. The dining area is more spacious and airy. The new Locahouz is located away from the Jonker Street. It is nearer to Capitol Satay Celup. Rest assured, there is plenty of parking spaces right opposite the building. The place is quieter and has less human traffic.

Crispy Profiteroles (RM23)

Crispy indeed, stuffed with salted caramel ice cream that melts SUPER fast. You need to be really quick if you want to take photos of it!

Red Wine Poached Pear (RM29)

I came for this - but I think I like the profiteroles more. The pear is definitely perfectly poached with red wine, but I guess it tasted too weird for my likings. It's bitter sweet and one thing for sure, they are not stingy with the wine!

Likes: Very nice place to chill (probably better at night). Desserts are a little pricey but I believe they also deliver quality.
Dislikes: The place itself is a little warm so it was a little uncomfortable to sit any longer, could perhaps work on the air-conditioning...

Red Bean (RM5)

We came here after at dining at Goon Wah which turned out to be a mess (expensive meal, terrible service, and we did not want to order more so we left - Goon Wah, not Lean's). Which turned out to be a good choice.

Barley Gingko (RM5.50)

Their tong sui is slightly pricier - you'll notice that you pay only around RM2-3 or so by the street but you're paying a lot more here. It's basically like home cooked tong sui. Barley and gingko came with loads of gingko, so they deliver not just quality, it also fetches the value.

Mak Chuk (RM5)

It's more expensive but I felt it was worth paying for - all tong sui I've tried are all rich and thick. It's not some diluted craap you pay for a cheaper price. I don't normally take Mak Chuk but it was surprisingly good. It was so thick i had to share this bowl, can't finish it by myself.

Chee Cheong Fun (RM6)

After being cheated by Goon Wah, I thought this RM6 noodles was much more worth paying than what we had in Goon Wah.

Likes: A little pricier but it's worth paying for. Plenty of choices
Dislikes: Plenty choices.. but almost every visit they run out of things I want to order, could probably work on that since they provided choices they should have it ready

We got ourselves some Magnum Ice cream for IWD!

Literally a lot of it, all for the ladies in the Call Centre!

Happy International Women's Day, and thank you Grab for delivering it! :)
We opted for the tea place in Atria because all the coffee shops (eg. Starbucks) were too full!!

So you'll get to smell the sample tea leaves - they are nothing like Chinese tea leaves, but there are a probably a few Chinese ones and they are mostly English / flower tea. Some people label it as "athas" tea.

One from our group insisted to have coffee, which was a terrible mistake - they served really bland hot coffee in a long glass without handle. All I can say is, never order coffee when you are in tea house!

The CUTEST thing that arrived my doorstep just days before my birthday! Who would have thought that Marshmellows can be customised??? And YES, ChubbeeCloud can do it for you!

So the photos were taken from my Facebook account! Psh, censoring some information! These babies are so cute, not only you can surprise your friends/other half, you can also opt for the two in a box for events and gifts!

Check them out at ChubbeeCloud!
Finally the hype for this place has gone down - so it's time to try all of their cakes!

Their pastries starts from approximately RM13 to RM19 each. We had a big party that day so we ordered everything.

They all have very different texture and distinct taste, which I don't really want to discuss about it. Go and try it out yourself!

Monsieur (RM14)

Le Jasmine (RM16)

My personal favourite among all as this is one of the lightest of all.

Jaune Eclair (RM13)

Le Poire (RM14)

Very limited seats as the shop is quite small.
