Pumpkin Soup (RM14)

One of those days we had hangover brunch on a Sunday at Antipodean... I took a bite of everything and it all seems very decent. I'm quite surprised actually, I normally would prefer soupy stuff instead of a huge plate of brekkie. So pumpkin soup it is!

Avocado Toast with Tomatoes and Bacons (RM22)

Likes: Great choices, not bad of a place for brunch - in fact one of the better ones (not overly toasted toasts at least!!)

Dislikes: Limited tables and space....

This was unexpectedly good! The cheese is really something... Much more deserving compared to the lobster roll.

Lobster Roll (HKD180)

So much mayo is used to stir up the lobster. This is not anywhere near impressive - just do a search on Luke's Lobster or Guardino's. Those are HUGE chunks of lobster in the roll, not minced!! And for that price, really?

I definitely will not return to this place - I found myself to be cheated with below average overpriced food. 

Yes. HKD65 for a glass of fruit juice.

We were walking aimlessly from Mong Kok to Jordan, trying to find some Mango dessert shop recommended by a local cab driver. We ended up finding this little gem instead...

Lucky for us we did not have to queue for it - milk custard, hot milk and cold milk for late dinner, to wash down the oily street food we had... Not like that will make a difference, I thought it's nice to convince myself it is a healthier option :P

Likes: Simple and quick snacks - we all enjoyed all our milk snacks.  Staffs were generally nice (I thought they will be unfriendly but no all of them who attended us were very nice and patient). 

Dislikes: None?

The first shop we saw when we got off our cab - Milk shop!!! The more popular choice is Australian Dairy Company, but according to my friends, the locals would prefer Yee Shun more. To be honest, I can't tell the difference.

We also had one papaya shake each for breakfast - healthy much?! It's so creamy and rich we did not even need to have solid food!

Since we are already here, might as well order something savoury - pork chop with macaroni to curb hangover faces!

Likes: Convenient, not too pricey, it came up to around HKD300++ for 4 pax which was alright. Milk custard is to die for!

Dislikes: Nil.

Wan tan - I doubt these are really good, it was soft and it breaks apart. Not properly in tact but I guess it's fine for char chan teng quality.

A friend was craving for borscht soup - it's so different from the version we get in Klang Valley where it's just downright diluted. This was just a random shop we went and we liked it already - flavourful, thick, and it's actual soup! Nevertheless, I think I love Russian bosrcht soup more....

We always watch TVB dramas where they would order truffle with scrambled eggs for breakfast - so here we are, truffle with scrambled eggs served with toasts!

It's right at Lan Kwai Fong - what a strategic place where people can grab some bites after drinking.

We found this placec by accident - we just wanted a place to sit down and have cakes and coffee.

This place is just 2 minutes walk from Kuromon Ichiba Market. They seem to be packed even after 9.30pm so I'm guessing this cafe must be alright.

We ordered strawberry cake and tea, boy they actually put a whole strawberry in it!! The cake was a little dry though. Of course, a cup of coffee as we sat right in front of where they made the coffee, don't think anyone can hold that temptation!

Likes: Simple and convenient.

Dislikes: Probably nothing that special for a visit, just a drink would do.

Finally the hype for this place has gone down - so it's time to try all of their cakes!

Their pastries starts from approximately RM13 to RM19 each. We had a big party that day so we ordered everything.

They all have very different texture and distinct taste, which I don't really want to discuss about it. Go and try it out yourself!

I have never been to Johor in my life (except going through the check-points on the way to Singapore, so I guess that doesn't count), but this year itself, I have been to the state more than 5 times. Recently whilejalan-jalan cari makan (meaning, roaming around for food) in JB, I found this eclectic looking cafe. The peculiar name got me really curious - Flower in the Window. In a glance, one might mistaken this cafe as a plant shop. The front shop is decorated with lushest potted plants that you definitely won't miss when passing by Jalan Dhoby.



We were awed with the entire interior design of the cafe that we couldn't resist to stop by for cakes despite just had a filling lunch at Roost Cafe down the road.



The foods are highly inspired by flowers and of course, you can find some hints of flower ingredients in their cooking as well. Their specialties are the variety of breads. Do check out the bread section on the menu.



My favourite pick from the drinks menu is the rosemary, chilli & lemon. Sounds weird? The taste is . acceptable and pretty refreshing. The chilli flakes are added to tickle your buds and not spicy at all.



Half of the first floor is catered for the open kitchen. Do proceed to the second floor for more spacious seating. The environment is homey and cozy. It is a place perfect for hangout with friends.

Located at Publika, this shop seems to be busy all the time. They serve Thai street food with an exorbitant price. You people are paying for their rental as well.

Boran Thai Ice Cream (RM16.90)

Not sure what style is this, but bread??? And there's sticky rice. Nothing wrong with that, except I just wanted coconut ice cream. This is too much for me.

Som Tam (RM15.90)

Yeah, you're probably thinking you can get something like this in Thailand for half the price. Also, the portions in Thailand are twice bigger and much more generous when it comes to ingredients like dried shrimps / salted egg / salted crab. Theirs is a very small and sad portion which consists of very little taste of the shrimps.

Pandan Chicken (RM13.90)

The pandan chicken is exceptionally small, and also pretty disgusting. The chicken is wrapped with pandan leaves and it's unusually oily. They are too lazy to even drain the oil before serving! The middle bits are a little pinkish. I'm not even sure if it's because of being frozen for too long so it isn't fresh or it's just undercooked. Also, these are not chunks of chicken meat, it's 50% chicken meat, 40% chicken fats and 10% chicken skin. After removing the disgusting 50%, I'm left with the chicken meat no bigger than a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Wait, the chocolate is bigger than the actual chicken meat. This is anything but good.

"Original" Coconut Shake (RM15.90)

Please slap yourself silly if you order the Coconut Shake. It's so full you cannot move or stir. It's a pile of tasteless shaved ice. It melts extremely fast due to our weather condition. It messed up the place. When we finally had most of the tasteless shaved ice, the bottom bit is extremely sweet. What kind of coconut shake is this????? I just can't. For RM15.90, there are better options out there.

And the prices are not inclusive of GST and Service Charge. Yes, please spend your money elsewhere. This place is now listed on the Top 10 Terrible Thai Joints in Klang Valley. 

On a side note, it's Halal. Perhaps that's why the attracted so many people. I shall continue to hunt for Pork Free/Halal Thai shops in Klang Valley which are MUCH better than this one.

I've always wondered about this place, and finally made it there because of Pokemon! There is a gym and two pokestops which explains the crowd over the weekend!

Nevertheless, we popped by not solely for Pokemon. It was a friend's birthday and we decided to just chill for tea. I've ordered the Sweet Potato Cake and the Salted Caramel Bingsu. Not too bad, in fact I love the cake! The savoury food did not appeal much from the menu, could give it a try next time.
