Big Breakfast (RM26)

I've seen this place, I know of this place, but never once occur to me to actually visit.

Pumpkin Soup (RM14)

One of those days we had hangover brunch on a Sunday at Antipodean... I took a bite of everything and it all seems very decent. I'm quite surprised actually, I normally would prefer soupy stuff instead of a huge plate of brekkie. So pumpkin soup it is!

Avocado Toast with Tomatoes and Bacons (RM22)

Likes: Great choices, not bad of a place for brunch - in fact one of the better ones (not overly toasted toasts at least!!)
Dislikes: Limited tables and space....

This shop has been around for years now - not sure how long exactly.l It's located in Pudu, one of the lanes from Pudu Plaza. They offer a variety of Malaysian desserts - angku, Malay kuih, fried radish cake, Hakka abacus beads, and the list goes on. One of my favourite is the egg tea - possibly something you don't get out of Malaysia. Some of their desserts are quite bland but I would say the quality is rather inconsistent. Sometimes the bubur chacha is thick, sometimes it's really thin. Nevertheless, I'm always happy with my egg tea.

They restock their kuihs twice a day - for morning and evening shift. Once it runs out, it runs out.

I would normally take away instead of having it there - didn't like the place as it's not very clean and flies just can't stop sticking to humans. Such nuisance...

Likes: Reasonable price for the portion, lots of choices, fresh traditional kuihs
Dislikes: Dirty, parking is horrendous, food runs out very quickly so be there early morning or early evening (can't remember the second slot of restock - either 5pm or 6pm)

Crispy Profiteroles (RM23)

Crispy indeed, stuffed with salted caramel ice cream that melts SUPER fast. You need to be really quick if you want to take photos of it!

Red Wine Poached Pear (RM29)

I came for this - but I think I like the profiteroles more. The pear is definitely perfectly poached with red wine, but I guess it tasted too weird for my likings. It's bitter sweet and one thing for sure, they are not stingy with the wine!

Likes: Very nice place to chill (probably better at night). Desserts are a little pricey but I believe they also deliver quality.
Dislikes: The place itself is a little warm so it was a little uncomfortable to sit any longer, could perhaps work on the air-conditioning...

Located at Publika, this shop seems to be busy all the time. They serve Thai street food with an exorbitant price. You people are paying for their rental as well.

Boran Thai Ice Cream (RM16.90)

Not sure what style is this, but bread??? And there's sticky rice. Nothing wrong with that, except I just wanted coconut ice cream. This is too much for me.

Som Tam (RM15.90)

Yeah, you're probably thinking you can get something like this in Thailand for half the price. Also, the portions in Thailand are twice bigger and much more generous when it comes to ingredients like dried shrimps / salted egg / salted crab. Theirs is a very small and sad portion which consists of very little taste of the shrimps.

Pandan Chicken (RM13.90)

The pandan chicken is exceptionally small, and also pretty disgusting. The chicken is wrapped with pandan leaves and it's unusually oily. They are too lazy to even drain the oil before serving! The middle bits are a little pinkish. I'm not even sure if it's because of being frozen for too long so it isn't fresh or it's just undercooked. Also, these are not chunks of chicken meat, it's 50% chicken meat, 40% chicken fats and 10% chicken skin. After removing the disgusting 50%, I'm left with the chicken meat no bigger than a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Wait, the chocolate is bigger than the actual chicken meat. This is anything but good.

"Original" Coconut Shake (RM15.90)

Please slap yourself silly if you order the Coconut Shake. It's so full you cannot move or stir. It's a pile of tasteless shaved ice. It melts extremely fast due to our weather condition. It messed up the place. When we finally had most of the tasteless shaved ice, the bottom bit is extremely sweet. What kind of coconut shake is this????? I just can't. For RM15.90, there are better options out there.

And the prices are not inclusive of GST and Service Charge. Yes, please spend your money elsewhere. This place is now listed on the Top 10 Terrible Thai Joints in Klang Valley.

On a side note, it's Halal. Perhaps that's why the attracted so many people. I shall continue to hunt for Pork Free/Halal Thai shops in Klang Valley which are MUCH better than this one.

I've always wondered about this place, and finally made it there because of Pokemon! There is a gym and two pokestops which explains the crowd over the weekend!

Nevertheless, we popped by not solely for Pokemon. It was a friend's birthday and we decided to just chill for tea. I've ordered the Sweet Potato Cake and the Salted Caramel Bingsu. Not too bad, in fact I love the cake! The savoury food did not appeal much from the menu, could give it a try next time.

Located at the same row with the popular Nam Heong Chicken Rice at China town. The entrance is quite hideous actually, like some speakeasy coffee bar!

We came here for their 3D Coffee Art, as a friend from the UK loves cute stuff!

Kokoro

Initially we came for cute Pokemon art which appeared on Instagram, but apparently not available for that day. They prepare it randomly, and it was so sweet of them to allow us to request! They didn't give us a reason why no Pokemon theme (I assume it depends on barista's skills...?), but at least they allowed us to pick normal ones.

...and the face is still there!

Hello Kitty

Friend from UK was really excited and thank you again Coffee Amo for the wonderful coffee art! :)

We booked via Off Peak and got ourselves a wonderful 50% off! The only thing I've noted is their service when they are about to close. We arrived at 5.20pm and we were hurried to make choices, order, eat, and leave. Like everything we did we were hurried to quickly do it.

I understand that they want to close, and leave at 6pm sharp, and they could have not taken our booking then... But if they have taken it so please perform your best. Unfortunately, I find everything was such a hurry that food presentation wasn't the best and service is a little lacking.

Smashing Advocate (RM25)

Not too bad. The whole combi is great - bread, ham, avocado, nicely poached eggs, messy watercress.

Only downside is the rather lazy watercress mess. They ran out of beef bacon so they replaced it with ham.... In terms of presentation it wasn't great. But taste was alright.

Don't bother calling them either- their phone is faulty (at least it didn't work on 23rd Aug). I called them so many times they did not pick up or just couldn't hear me then tell me it's my phone's problem.

Who Zoo Yuzu (RM22)

Thick pancakes, yuzu sauce, orange slices, chia seeds, basil leaves, a scoop of ice cream. Great combi, berry ice cream is very refreshing. Nothing to fault!

Overall, I will give it another try once again perhaps not when they are "about the close"? Rather disappointing on our first, perhaps it is one of those days. I will not penalise them immediately because their food is actually not bad.

Also, note that their food is Halal. I've confirmed with the wait staff but unsure they are certified Halal. They kitchen staffs looks Malay too, just in case you're still worried about the certification. It's good for everyone.
