I have been trying out molten cakes at Softcore, I've tried almost everything!

Peanut Butter Molten Cake

Salted Egg Yolk Molten Cake

Salted Caramel Molten Cake

White Chocolate Molten Cake

Matcha Molten Cake

Lemon Cookie Molten Cake

Cakes are priced between RM15-RM17. If you are looking to have tea or coffee, there are set deals too. Vietnamese drip coffee is highly recommended - it tasted just like the ones I had back in Saigon! Well according to them, beans are sourced all the way from Vietnam. This explains the taste of Saigon! It's good to know where to get my dose of Viet coffee!!

Pretty little cakes at The Tea Room, Harrods London.

Don't know what Rose Tea they served but it was just sooo good. Being biased but tea in London is always good :P Especially when they use the entire bud instead of dried shattered leaves which you can barely tell how it looks like!

No tea is complete without some scones!

Scones with clotted cream. The texture of the cream is SUPER smooth! It was served chilled, so much so that I thought it was ice cream.

Cake Selection

If you haven't booked any famous tea places in London, this is the place you can go for last minute afternoon tea experience. Instead of paying 70 quid per pax, 40 quids is enough to feed two person. Of course you don't expect as much, but still anything in Harrods serve decent quality. But be mindful that you're not paying hotel prices, so don't expect hotel standards.

Quaint little cafe somewhere which is quite far from the city centre.

This hidden gem is located at Greater KL, with about 30 minutes drive from the city centre with the traffic.

Never would you have thought this small little cafe is always full!

Flourless Orange Poppy Seed Cake (RM6.50)

Pandan Panna Cotta (RM6.50)

Crème brûlée (RM8.50)

Apparently their scones is one of the best in town! I've got to try it again someday. Someday...

Tea for 1 Pax (RM6.50)

Their prices are really cheap actually. How can you get good desserts for anything lower than RM10 these days in the heart of Kuala Lumpur?

Sliced cakes are all below RM10, A slice would be at about RM6-RM8 on an average. Cupcakes are about RM5-6? And they come in original size, not even small or medium ones.

This is definitely the right place to be for afternoon tea, the location may not be the best, but if you'd like to have good sweets and tea, just make a trip down to Taman Melawati.

Apart from sweet bites, there are also savoury and hot food. Pastas, bangers and mash, and some other choices I can't remember. Though I'd say, reserve the space for all the desserts! The in house decors are so pretty, shame I didn't get a picture of it. Next time!

Chic cafe in Damansara Uptown. Previously known as Ecole P, well they are probably still known as Ecole P with a fancier name!

Tables are really so limited we had no choice but to sit outside till someone leaves. I didn't like the outdoor seating, it was really way too hot. I was already dizzy from the weather and the roller chairs did not help! However, it would be fine sitting outside when the sun sets!

Lolita's Revenge (RM20) - Molten lemon cake on a crispy biscuit. Right at the bottom of the cup, it's mild cream and ice cream, with mint leaves and some spicy powder. Possibly paprika powder.

It is oddly strange to have sour, sweet and spicy all in one cup.

I personally find it new and it may not be of everybody's taste bud. Very interesting actually, to have "spicy" dessert for tea.

We finished it too anyhow, just not the chilli paprika portion as it was too challenging for us!!
